Wolf Theiss’s School of Excellence has placed the law firm 11th amongst the most innovative firms in corporate strategy listed in FT’s Innovative Lawyers 2014 report. The corresponding awards are given based on this report which is divided between the legal expertise categories of corporate, litigation, finance and private client work; and the operational categories of corporate strategy, client service and value resourcing.
The 2014 study comprises over 180 law firms and legal services providers in Europe, Wolf Theiss having been included on the shortlist for the accompanying awards along with other big names in the legal market, such as Allen & Overy, Linklaters, Berwin Leighton Paiser or Latham & Watkins.
Launched in 2011, the “Wolf Theiss School of Excellence” is a training programme whose focus is not only on legal expertise, but also on teaching of entrepreneurship, communication skills, business administration and law firm management.
Iulia Simion, Senior Associate at Wolf Theiss Romania, describes her experience: “The School of Excellence was an amazing experience. It is a training programme which teaches the complementary aspects of the legal profession, seen as business. It encouraged our innovative thinking and challenged us to think outside the framework we are familiar with in our day-to-day activities. Being very interactive, the project required active involvement from all the trainees, thus helping us to understand many processes and procedures driving a successful business”.
Headquartered in Austria, Wolf Theiss has 13 offices across Europe, including Romania, this in-house professional training being open to all junior and senior lawyers from these offices. In 2013, the law firm was also ranked among the most innovative law firms in Europe, for the same category.
