Dentons advises NEPI Rockcastle on €250 million green loan from EBRD
Dentons has advised NEPI Rockcastle on a €250 million bilateral green loan provided by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to NE Property B.V., a subsidiary of NEPI Rockcastle.

The financing, structured as a senior unsecured loan maturing in August 2034, is fully committed to green investments across NEPI Rockcastle’s Central and Eastern European portfolio, including new developments, upgrades and extensions of green retail assets. The facility complements NEPI Rockcastle’s existing bond and bank financing, diversifying its funding sources and extending its maturity profile.

The loan will finance eligible green projects under NEPI Rockcastle’s Green Finance Framework, which is aligned with ICMA Green Bond Principles and LMA Green Loan Principles. Eligible projects must achieve internationally recognised green building certification or deliver defined and measurable improvements to low-carbon installations and energy performance.

Partner Simona Marin, Head of the Banking and Finance practice in Bucharest, and counsel Stefi Ionescu assisted NEPI Rockcastle with negotiating the transaction and successfully achieving closing.
