Popovici Nițu Stoica & Asociații advised BRD Asset Management S.A.I. on the acquisition of a 99.9944% stake in S.A.I. Patria Asset Management, the administrator of the largest ETF in Romania, from Patria Bank, in a transaction valued at approximately EUR 5.5 million.

Signed on 9 March 2026, the transaction was completed on 5 August 2026, following receipt of the relevant regulatory approvals. The acquisition extends BRD Asset Management’s product offering into the exchange-traded funds (ETF) segment and further consolidates its position as the largest fund manager in Romania.

PNSA provided comprehensive legal assistance to BRD Asset Management throughout the M&A process, including transaction structuring, legal due diligence, drafting and negotiation of the transaction documents, assistance in obtaining the required regulatory approvals and support through to completion.
