DLA Piper Dinu strengthens market position by recruiting three experts

DLA Piper Dinu has extended its corporate law, finance&projects and white collar crime practices by hiring three experienced lawyers: Paula Corban-Pelin, Alexandra Ovedenie and Alexandru-Lucian Arjoca.

"The recruitment of the three lawyers reflects DLA Piper's strategy to consolidate its position on the Romanian market, while relying on strong professional values such as commitment, authenticity, responsibility, integrity and trust. Along with reinforcing the above-mentioned practices, we will permanently adapt to our clients' requirements and we will identify opportunities that we will capitalize on, honoring our business philosophy which says that everything matters - each detail, each relationship. Thus, our focus stays on offering a large range of integrated services, centered around a deep understanding of the industries where our clients activate," commented Marian Dinu, Country Manager Partner of DLA Piper Dinu.

Paula Corban-Pelin comes from another international law firm, joining the Corporate practice as a Counsel. She has an extensive experience (over 13 years) in corporate M&A, power and electricity, oil and gas, public procurement, real estate, civil and commercial law, advising both domestic and international companies. She engaged in pioneering projects in the energy industry sector, with emphasis on the nuclear field, renewable energy, cogeneration and oil and gas.

Alexandra Ovedenie, whose practice focuses on financing – corporate, investment and project finance – banking regulatory aspects, derivatives, structured products and investment service, has joined the law firm’s team as coordinator of the Finance & Projects practice of DLA Piper Dinu. With a career of over 12 years advising banks, financial institutions and their clients, she had formerly worked as in-house lawyer for the Romanian subsidiaries of two international banks for four years.

The other new member of DLA Piper Dinu’s team is Alexandru-Lucian Arjoca, formerly chief prosecutor of the Bureau for Combating Intellectual Property Crimes within the General Prosecutor Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania. He has more than 17 years of experience, as a lawyer and as a prosecutor, investigating and prosecuting complex cases of Intellectual Property Rights. During his career, he was involved in the first prosecution of a counterfeited medicine case in Romania or the first prosecution of a torrent site case.
