PNSA advised Auchan Romania, the subsidiary of the French giant Auchan Retail, on the sale of Ford Plant to One United. The building was the first Ford plant with an operational assembly line in Eastern Europe, the land on which it was built having been acquired at the beginning of the 1930s by Henry Ford himself. The plant opened in 1936, it had 100 employees, and it ended its activity in 1948.
In 2016, PNSA advised Auchan Romania also in connection with taking over, together with One United, from the Greek investment fund Global Finance, the land consisting of 2.8 hectares located in Floreasca on which the Ford Plant is built.
Bogdan C. Stoica (Partner), Irina Ivanciu (Partner) and Ioana Avram (Senior Associate) were part of the PNSA team that advised in the project.
Auchan Retail Romania currently holds a portfolio of 33 Auchan hypermarkets and 5 Auchan supermarkets and a network of MyAuchan convenience stores. Auchan is one of the most important retailers in Romania, with approximately 10,000 employees and a turnover of over Euro 1.2 billion.
