The first Romanian President of INSOL Europe brings a course of the Forum for the first time in Romania
Radu Lotrean, President of INSOL Europe and Vasile Godîncă-Herlea, CEO CITR

Romania is the first country where the European forum of insolvency practitioners organizes a high profile training course. The event entitled „Insolvency Proceedings in Eastern Europe and Romania”, supported by CITR , aims at insolvency professionals and it is to take place at Caro Hotel in Bucharest as of February.

The seminar is to be held by a group of international experts from World Bank and International Monetary Fund – prestigious university scholars who participated in the elaboration of the legislation in respect of cross border insolvency, as well as local experts with a vast experience in the above-mentioned proceedings. Radu Lotrean, the first Romanian President of INSOL Europe in 2017-2018 assumed the mission to increase Romania’s exposure among renowned European professionals.

Radu Lotrean, President of INSOL Europe in 2017-2018: The organization of such an event for the first time in Romania is the result of the endeavors we undertook so that our specialists would receive European acknowledgment. The Forum also took this decision because of our success at EECC Conference organized by INSOL Europe in 2016 in Cluj, where our practitioners proved their professionalism before the most reputed specialists in Europe. The event that is to take place this year in Bucharest aims at the professional development of insolvency specialists in Eastern European countries by facilitating access to the most up-to-date research, findings and tendencies in the field; furthemore, it also benefits both from an increasing interest from the audience and the support from National Magistrates’ Institute and the Ministry of Justice.

In fact, the objective assumed by Radu Lotrean during his presidency envisages a realistic healing of the economy by raising awareness in the business field and among European governments in respect of the solutions provided by insolvency proceedings. Moreover, strength regards Romania’s contribution to the development of insolvency industry by involving more Romanian insolvency practitioners in participating at INSOL Europe events and the first step is meeting European specialists at this professional training organized in Bucharest.

Vasile Godîncă-Herlea, CEO CITR,  is one of the lectors at this seminar together with:  Prof. Ignacio Tirado (Spain), Prof. Irit Mevorach and Prof. Riz Mokal (UK), Prof. Janis Sarra Canada), Prof. Christoph Paulus (Germany), Prof. Michael Veder (Holland) as well as renowned local specialists such as Simona Maria Miloș - President INPPI, Andreea Deli-Diaconescu - Deli și Asociații and Irina Șarcane - Target SPRL.

Vasile Godîncă-Herlea, CEO CITR: We are honoured to support such a high-profile event in Bucharest where we are given the chance to debate alongside European specialists who impose the trends in this field. Romanian insolvency proceedings are relevant in Europe also due to the players who have repeatedly assumed the responsibility to educate the business environment. Insolvency remains one of the solutions for the economy due to the fact that it provides companies in financial distress a real opportunity to redress.

The event is to be attended by insolvency practitioners, judges and representatives of state authorities involved in insolvency proceedings.

This professional training course is to take place during three modules, namely  2-4 February, 29 June-1 July and  24-25 November. The event has 20 professionals training credits awarded by INPPI and upon completion, the participants will receive a diploma from INSOL Europe.

INSOL Europe is a European professional organization for insolvency practitioners, founded in 1981 and its aim is to facilitate exchange of information, ideas and practices among its members and to increase the collaboration with different European institutions as well as other relevant international institutions.
