Wolf Theiss Bucharest advised a syndicate of banks consisting of Erste Bank Group AG, pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank and Banca Comerciala Romana in relation to a EUR 170 million facility granted to AFI Europe group for the purposes of acquiring NEPI Rockcastle’s office portfolio in Romania.
The Wolf Theiss Banking & Finance team in Bucharest assisted the syndicate of banks in what is considered the largest deal of 2020 to date on the Romanian real estate market. The team, coordinated by partner Claudia Chiper, as head of the Wolf Theiss Banking & Finance practice in Romania, advised the banks in all stages of the deal, including transaction structuring , due diligence, drafting of all financing documentation and successful negotiation and closing of the financing.
As a result of this transaction, AFI Europe group, the leading real estate development and investment group operating in Central and Eastern Europe (with a focus on the development of large-scale commercial and residential projects) completed the takeover of four NEPI Rockcastle office projects.
