Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații law firm salutes the High Court of Cassation and Justice’s decision as of November 23rd granting the extraordinary appeal and freeing Robert Roșu.

Judges of the Supreme Court quashed the 17 December 2020 decision convicting Robert Roșu and acquitted him of all charges, thus delivering justice in this case and confirming that his activities as lawyer were in full compliance with the law.

“This reparatory decision stands not only as token of the extraordinary professional and moral integrity of the judges who passed it, but as a historic landmark in Romanian jurisprudence. We trust this decision will constitute a remarkable milestone for any future judgment on the lawyer’s role and importance in the judicial system, and on the undisputable importance of institutions such as the presumption of innocence, the right of defense and the constitutional right to a fair trial”, said Florentin Țuca, Managing Partner of the firm.

Țuca Zbârcea & Asociații thanks all colleagues who expressed solidarity in Robert Roșu’s case, especially the leaders and counsellors of the National Union of Romanian Bars, the Bucharest Bar and county bars across the country. Our confrere’s victory today is not merely personal, it is the success of our entire profession.

The warmest thanks to all our clients, friends, fellow lawyers and jurists in general, journalists, and all those who have been close to us throughout this very trying year and have not lost hope that justice will eventually prevail!
