Romanian law firm Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii has launched dataprivacyblog.tuca.ro, a portal created in the context of increasing challenges in terms of the requirements relative to personal data protection and privacy.
The blog was designed as a communication platform which will include the latest news on domestic and European regulations in this field, being dedicated to those concerned about their rights and obligations with respect to privacy given the tightening legislation on cyber security, the rapid expansion of IT&C solutions and services, as well as the increasing requirements on personal data protection.
“Unfortunately, the principles regarding privacy and data protection are not always respected, especially in the online environment. We expect increasing number of regulations (especially secondary regulations) in this field, so we considered it useful to launch a platform to support the need for information. The features published on this website are only informative, they do not represent legal advice and nor should they be seen as such”, commented Cornel Popa, Partner with Tuca Zbarcea & Avocatii.
He further highlighted that compliance with the specific legislation is becoming increasingly important under the current circumstances, as the problems regarding data and network security, confidentiality or those resulting from the breach of privacy in the online environment tend to worsen. Hence, all users have to fully understand how the IT&C services work, to be aware of pros and cons when it comes to using them, as well as of the risks involved when storing data or making public personal information, Popa concluded.
The law firm's team specialized in data protection and privacy matters is coordinated by Partners Cornel Popa and Catalin Baiculescu and it comprises Andreea Lisievici, Managing Associate, Bogdan Halcu, Managing Associate, Ciprian Timofte, Senior Associate and Sergiu Cretu, Associate.
