Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii law firm was ranked sixth amongst most innovative law firms in Europe (outside the UK) by FT which on October 8, 2014, released the Innovative Lawyers 2014 report. The accompanying awards were offered within a ceremony held at the Natural History Museum in London. In its ninth year of publication, the report is dominated by major law firms such as Freshfields, Linklaters, Baker & McKenzie, Eversheds, Skadden Arps or Slaughter & May.
The Romanian outfit remains the sole law firm in Eastern Europe included in FT’s ranking, its innovation in terms of finance, litigation and corporate law being recognized. Tuca Zbarcea & Asociatii obtained 61 points, ranking the 28th, tied with Spanish law firm Gomez-Acebo & Pombo. The ranking is led by Allen & Overy, followed by Linklaters and Baker & McKenzie.
Tuca Zbarcea was also nominated for one of the three major awards – ”Most innovative law firm in Europe (outside the UK)”, securing the sixth place, again tied with Gomez-Acebo & Pombo and among A&L Goodbody, Garrigues, Uria Menendez, NautaDutilh, Vieira de Almeida e Associados. The category winner was Spanish law firm Garrigues.
According to Financial Times, the FT Innovative Lawyers report is Europe’s only ranking of lawyers by innovation. This year’s study includes 188 law firms and legal service providers, including in-house advisers of large European corporations. The report is divided between the legal expertise categories of corporate, litigation, finance and private client work; and the operational categories of corporate strategy, client service and value resourcing.
