Eversheds Sutherland assisted NEPI Rockcastle, the largest investor and developer of shopping centres in Central and Eastern Europe, in the acquisition of 17 hectares of land in Galati, in South-Eastern Romania, for a mixed-use real estate project.
The Eversheds Sutherland team, which included Cristian Guia, Cristian Lina and Cristina Rosca, advised NEPI Rockcastle in all stages of this complex transaction, from the drafting and negotiation of the documentation (pre-contracts, related contracts) to due diligence on the targeted land area.
The transaction is part of NEPI Rockcastle's medium and long-term strategy of local expansion, focused on the development of mixed-use projects (where the commercial centre remains the anchor, enhanced by complementary functions, mainly residential), and is an important indicator of the local market liquidities, which contribute to an increased investor confidence.
